With Every Turn of the Earth

He lent a flame to a candle to give light to the stars
He gave the moon a torch as to chase the night away
And a lantern did he carry so that it may set the dark ablaze
Thus a war was waged between the night and the day
Each won their respective battles, but neither one would give way
And so the sun and moon are forever entwined in this dance:
Day envelops night just as night devours day
But even in this dark, he found, the light will always remain.
